Belcaro

This Denver neighborhood lives up to the legacy of it’s namesake mansion, “Belcaro” which means “beautiful beloved” in Italian. Belcaro is considered one of the more upscale and fashionable neighborhoods in central Denver. The area is bounded by Steel Street and Colorado Blvd on the east and west, and Mississippi Ave and Cheery Creek Drive on the north and south.

Belcaro was developed by Senator G Phillips in the 1950’s around his magnificent mansion. The architectural style is primarily low slung spacious ranches on sprawling lawns. The quiet interior on the Belcaro neighborhood is remarkable given it’s proximity to the Cherry Creek shopping area and Colorado Blvd. corridor.

In 2010 John Wyszynski, President of Gerretson Realty, was the real estate agent who helped a philanthropic couple purchase the Belcaro Mansion from The University of Denver. The mansion is currently undergoing a restoration as it is returned to a single family residence.
