Get to know the Congress Park neighborhood by meeting at the home of Columns & Coffee founder Chad Cox, at the J.G Leyner House, 2830 E. 13th Avenue. Built in 1913 by architect/builder Andreas Eriksen, the house is finished with handsome woodwork, maple & oak floors, and William Morris wallpaper, with gardens on its spacious corner lot with trellises and a carriage house. After touring Chad and Brenna’s home, we will stroll next door to the Avon Masonic Apartments, designed by F.W. Ireland and E.W. Parr and built by the Gruber Brothers in 1931. Tom Gruber of Gruber Remodeling will be on hand to make a few remarks about his grandfather. The manager of the building, Bruce McGreal, is looking forward to giving us a memorable tour of this Tudor style building.
Location: Meet for coffee at the Cox residence, 2830 E. 13th Avenue at the SW corner of Fillmore Street. When parking, please be respectful of the neighbors.
Cost: $10 General. No cost to ICAA Members.
